Leslie Langille Benson died September 7, 1972 at the Tryon Hospital in Tryon, North Carolina. He was a member of the Salamagundi Club, Artist's Guild and the Society of Illustrators. His wife Florence died June 12, 1973.
His illustrations appeared in many magazines including Saturday Evening Post, McCalls, Red Book, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping etc. He was a magazine illustrator in the early 1920's and 1930's then he became a book illustrator and turned to more religious subjects.
