Biography   Littleton Alston


A professor of sculpture at Creighton University in Omaha, Littleton Alston has creates sculpture in bronze with subjects including Indians, African-Americans, life-size and portrait bust, and figurative with symbolic themes.

In 2019, he won the Willa Cather National Statuary Hall Competition over more than 70 applicants to create a portrait statue of Cather to be placed by 2020 in the National Statuary Hall Collection at the U.S. Capitol Building. This figure and one of Standing Bear will replace statues of J. Sterling Morton and William Jennings Bryan, which have represented Nebraska for the last 80 years.
