Biography Lore Riess
A painter and printmaker based in New York City, Lore Riess was a
student at the Art Students League* of New York and the Bauhaus School*
in Berlin. She also spent time in Tokyo where she studied Sumi*
Drawing and Calligraphy*.
Exhibition venues included the Nihon Bashi Gallery in Tokyo, 1965;
National Association of Women Artists*, 1969 (M.J. Kaplan Prize);
National Society of Painters and Sculptors; Old Jaffa Nora Gallery in
Israel, 1970; International Miniature Print Exhibition, 1971; Phoenix
Gallery, New York City, 1970s. In 1964, she won the William
McNulty Merit Award, Art Students League.
Her work is in the collection of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the
Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv M
