Born in Maryland on Jan. 6, 1877. Stellman moved to California in 1901. By 1920 he had settled in San Francisco where he worked both as an artist and a writer for the Call-Bulletin. He later moved to the Monterey Peninsula where he remained until his death in Carmel on June 20, 1961.
