Luc Giraud (1889-1960)
An expressionist painter in bright colors of portraits, landscapes and still life, Luc Girurd was most noted for landscape and still life, in oranges and reds, especially of the countryside along the Mediterranean Sea. Giraud also did engravings.
In the late 1930s he took classes at the Atelier Julien in Paris. His first important exhibition was in Marseilles, France in 1946. Later in 1946, he had an exhibition of his work in Paris, and the following year in New York City.
Giraud received many awards including Peintres Témoins de leur temps (Grand Prix 1964), - Prix du Gemmail en 1965 (consacré Peintre de Lumière) - Prix international (
