Biography Malik Muhammad Qazvini
Malik Muhammad Qazvini (1800-1899) is known to have written a number of panels of calligraphy in a modern script which adapted medieval floriated kufic. He is considered one of the fathers of this graphic form of calligraphy in Iran. Another example of a calligraphy by him is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, dated AH 1285 (acc.no.1998.268;http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/works-of-art/1998.268/) and in the Harvard Museum of Art (acc.no.1958.235, http://www.harvardartmuseums.org/collections/object/201366?position=276).
