Biography   Marcel Braitstein

A sculptor and teacher, Marcel Braitstein lived at St. Hilaire, Quebec. He taught advanced sculpture at the Montreal Museum Fine Arts, 1963-1965 and was professor of sculpture at the École Beaux-Arts Montreal from 1965-1969. From 1969 until retirement he was Professor of Sculpture at the University of Quebec, Montreal, 1969-. 

He took his art training at the École Beaux-Arts Montréal where he received a diploma, and at the Institute Allende, San Miguel Allende, Mexico.

Memberships included the Quebec Sculptors Association, which he served as vice-president from 1969-1971); and the Royal Canada Academy of Arts, where he was an Associate member.
