As an illustrator, Marcia Brown employed a diverse range of styles and media, including woodcuts, collage, pen-and-ink drawings, watercolors and gouache.
Marcia Brown, a children’s book illustrator who was a three-time winner of the Caldecott Medal, her field’s highest honor, died on April 28 at her home in Laguna Hills, Calif. She was 96.
Her death was announced by Simon & Schuster, which published several of her books.
