Born in California in 1887. Woods grew up on a grain farm in Stockton. By the 1920s he had a home in Monterey and was active in the art scene in San Francisco Bay. By 1933 he was employed by the Public Works of Art Project in Lodi and Stockton. Exhibited: Bohemian Club, 1922, 1923; San Francisco Art Ass'n, 1924; California-Pacific Industries Exposition (San Diego), 1926; California State Fair, 1930.
