Margaret Warriner Buck was born in NYC on April 29, 1857. Buck studied at Yale Art School and, after moving to San Francisco in 1891, at the Mark Hopkins Institute. Following the disaster of 1906, she illustrated for Sunset magazine while living in the California cities of Berkeley, Redlands, and San Rafael. She died in the latter on April 5, 1929.
