She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and, other than for three years in New York City (1929 - 1931), lived most of her life in Montreal.
Her mediums included oil paint, pastel and fresco*. Her subjects were landscapes, buildings, still life, portraits and figures. Her styles included Fauvism* and Expressionism*.
In the 1920s, she studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Montreal and from 1931 to 1934 at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière*, Paris under Andre Lhote [see AskART].
