Biography   Marian Curtis


Born in Los Angeles, CA on Feb. 12, 1912, Marian Curtis studied at the Chouinard Art School under Phil Dike, Phil Paradise, and Pruett Carter. During the 1930s and early 1940s she was active in Laguna Beach.

The wife of John Manning, she died in her native city on Nov. 12, 1972.

Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, 1938; Santa Cruz Art League, 1938; Los Angeles County Fair, 1938 (medal); California WaterColor Society, 1938-43; Laguna Beach Art Association, 1938-43; California State Fair, 1939 (prize); Art Institute of Chicago 1939; Golden Gate International Exhibition, 1939; Oakland Art Gallery, 1939 (solo); Stendahl Gallery (LA), 1941.
