Biography Marian Michalik
The Polish painter Marian Michalik studied at the Art School in Czestochowa until 1966 and worked subsequently as a commercial graphic artist and designer. He later developed an interest in painting. His works are characterized by a kind of mystical realism. He depicted mainly still lifes in landscapes, where the dark colors and light and shadow effects are reminiscent of the 17th century Dutch painting. Michalik has received numerous awards at home and abroad. In 2001, the Prize for Young Polish Painters was named after him.
