Marianne Rauschnabel was born in 1894 in Belgium. While studying at the Stuttgart Art School, Marianne met artist William Rauschnabel whom she later married. In 1905 the Rauschnabels came to San Francisco where she continued her studies at the California School of Fine Arts (San Francisco).
The couple later settled across the bay in Marin County as residents of San Anselmo and Kentfield. While visiting her sister in Germany, Mrs. Rauschnabel died on Nov. 9, 1964.
