Born in Tacoma, WA on Dec. 28, 1892. Smith studied at the CCAC, Portland (OR) Museum School, University of Chicago, University of Oregon, UCLA, Chouinard School of Art, and with Millard Sheets. She appears to have settled in southern California about 1925 and for 45 years taught in the public schools of Alhambra.
