Born in Montana in Sept. 26, 1884. While in San Francisco in 1900-01, Arata studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. After the earthquake in 1906, he moved across the bay to Marin County and established a dental practice in San Rafael. He died there on Dec. 21, 1963.
