Biography   Marjorie Steele

Born in Reno Nevada, Marjorie Steele started in show business, on stage in Hollywood, London, New York. She started to paint in the early to mid 20th century in New York. She was inspired to paint by her first husband Huntington Hartford, the Heir to the A&P Market. She later remarried, noted Irish historian and writer Constantine Fitzgibbon, and became a sculptor.

Her bronzes can be seen around the world. The Irish Studies at Stonehill College Easton, MA has a collection of busts done by her, also three outdoor sculptures grace the campus at Stonehill. In Dublin more bronzes are located in the St. Stevens Green. A James Joyce life-size bronze sculpture stands at the top of O'Connell St in Dublin.
