Martha Louisa Coleman (1848-1892) was a Vermont, painter, botanical artist and floral watercolorist. She was born in Lenenburgh, Vermont on October 16, 1848, third of the six children of Martha Louisa Dewey (1815-1886) and Deacon Horace Pinneo Coleman (1818-1880). Her father, a Deacon of the Congressional Church since 1855, bought the Olcott-Johnson house (c. 1772) and farm at Norwich, Vermont in November 1868; Martha moved there with her family in January 1869 - they called it Maple Hill Farm. Her sister Abbie Coleman (1844-1926) had married Charles Danna Hazen in May 1868; they lived at nearby Brookside Farm.
