Born in Vienna, Austria on Nov. 20, 1892. Obzina studied at the Polytechnic Art School in Vienna. He came to the U.S. in 1913 and attended Iowa State College. He then moved to California and settled in Hollywood. He assisted David Siquieros in the mural in the Plaza Art Center in 1932. He was a stage designer and scenic artist in the movie industry for 20 years before becoming an art director in 1939. He then was twice nominated for Academy Awards. Obzina died in Hollywood on Dec. 19, 1992.
