Both a studio, figurative portrait, and plein air painter, Mary Beth Schwark-Kuester focused on Southwestern scenes, including Native American subjects and peoples. She also taught extensively, conducting annual workshops at Valdes Studio, Santa Fe, New Mexico from 1992 to 2000.
Married to artist Robert Kuester (1954-2001), she and her husband moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1984.
