Biography Mary Brewer
From Chicago, Mary Locke Brewer was a painter of landscape and water scenes. She studied in Rome in 1911 with Signor Tannier and later in Paris with Robert Henri. She exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1923, and among her better known paintings are "The Lagoon", "The Sun Dial", "The Seine Boat" and "High and Dry".
