Formerly in business as a design engineer and wood worker, he turned to the potter's wheel and the making of raku. Some of his more popular objects are called "Wish Keepers" that have suspended inner chambers for keeping written wishes.
He was born January 14, 1949 in Hawaii and settled in Holualoa, a farming town on the slopes of Hualalai Mountain above Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He first became interested in artistic expression through wood carving when he was age twelve, and later turned to charcoal and pastels to reflect his deep interest and reverence for nature.
