A.K.A. “Max Hermann,” “Max Herrmann”

Animal and landscape painter in oil and watercolor, etcher, teacher, and baritone singer.  Born in Dresden, Germany to Ida (b. 1860) and Richard Hermann (b. 1854), the family came to America in 1886.  The Hermann family lived in Brooklyn on Lafayette Avenue (1910) and later on Kosciusko Street (1920).  Max Hermann became a naturalized citizen in 1891 at the   ...  Displaying 750 of 15382 characters.
