Biography Mike Barlow
After a successful career as a wildlife photographer in 1999, Mike Barlow gave it up to pursue a career as a sculptor of big game animals.
Barlow, the son of a well respected landscape painter, was raised surrounded by art. He grew up in Gillette, Wyoming often meeting around his parent's kitchen table other artists such as Hollis Williford, Ned Jacob, George Carlson and Clyde Aspevig. He spent his summers hiking and fishing in Wyoming and in the fall hunted on the family's ranch.
His years as a wildlife photographer help him capture animals gestures and natural majesty. He still spends three months of every year out in the field most often in Africa, Alaska or the Rocky Mountains.
