The following information was submitted by Linda Hall-Little, and is a copy of excerpted text she sent to Warren Schomaker, Curator of the Jackson Historical Society in Jackson, New Hampshire.
I found a Miriam Gay born 30 Aug 1851 to Nathaniel Gay and Mary Emeline (Day) Gay in Stoughton, Massachusetts - siblings were Aaron, Moses and Edith Gay. She married Arthur Milnor Bridgman on 12 November 1879.
In 1880, she was living in Haverhill, Massachusetts and listed as a "landscape artist" in the census (photo attached). In 1900, 1910 & 1920 she is listed in the census without an occupation.
She died 13 January 1925. She is buried in Dry Pond Cemetery, Stoughton. I didn't find an
