Biography Morgan Stinemetz
Painter and illustrator, Morgan Stinemetz was born in Washington, DC. He attended the Corcoran Art School, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where he studied under Thomas Anshutz, and the Art Students League in New York City.
He exhibited at least one oil on canvas landscape (and possibly also a painting of a sailboat) in the groundbreaking International Exhibition of Modern Art in 1913 at the Armory in New York.
Stinemetz's career was interrupted by World War I, during which he designed camoflauge for US Navy ships. He went on to a career as a prominent illustrator, working for publications including Colliers, Good Housekeeping, Woman's Home Companion, Pictorial Review, and Outdoor Life.
