Biography   Mumtaz Al Bahra

Mumtaz Al Bahra is a well-known illustrator who worked for children's magazines throughout the Middle East and whose legacy is fixed within the minds of generations of viewers through drawings that were executed for elementary school publications during the latter part of the twentieth century.

After studying with several of his fellow Syrian artists in the Department of Painting at the College of Fine Arts in Cairo in the late 1950s, he went on to work for the state-run magazine USAMAH in Damascus, where he established his style of illustration early on.
