Mustafa Altintas was born in Aksehir in 1946. He began his art education at Gazi Educational Institution, Teacher Training College in Ankara. In 1970, he went to Paris with a French scholarship, and entered a studio at the Cite Internationale des Arts. He entered the “E.N.S.B.A” Academy of Fine Arts in Paris, and studied painting at the studios of Gustave Singier and Jean Bertholle. Between 1977 and 1980, Altintas continued his master's degree in the Faculty of Cinematic Arts at Sorbonne University, and studied with Jean Mitry, Eric Rohmer and Jean Rouch.
