Born in Oregon on May 19, 1900. Nadine Porter arrived in California about 1920. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she further studied at the CSFA. She married artist Wm F. Torrance in 1935 and worked on the WPA Art Education Program in the 1930s. During her last 20 years she was employed as a draftsman by the U.S. Navy. Mrs. Torrance maintained a home in San Francisco at 656 Vermont until her death on Feb. 11, 1974. Member: Society for Sanity in Art.
