Nathan Begaye

Nathan Begaye was active/lived in New Mexico, Arizona.  Nathan Begaye is known for Navajo-Hopi pottery, parrot, feathers, serpent designs.

Biography   Nathan Begaye

Nathan Begaye, who lives in Santa Fe and has lived in Phoenix, has both Hopi and Navajo ancestry, and incorporates both traditions into his pottery where he favors subject matter of parrots, serpents, human faces, feathers and rain clouds. 

Begaye first exhibited his work at age eleven, and left home at fourteen. He received formal training at the Institute of American Indian Art and Alfred University.
