Nellie Geraldine Best was born in Sterling, WA on May 22, 1905. Best earned an M.F.A. degree at the University of Oregon. She was active in Minneapolis until the late 1930s and then moved to Lynwood, CA where she was active through the 1950s. She died in Eugene, OR on June 2, 1990.
