Biography Nicholaos Othoneos
Nikolaos Othonaios (Othoneos) was born in Kalamata in 1877. He studied at the School of Fine Arts (graduated in 1901) near the N. Volanaki and K. Ransom. He continued his studies at the Munich Academy. He dealt with the landscape painting, the painting of animals, but also subjects the wars of 1912-1913 and 40. He belongs to the last representatives of the Munich School.
He participated in group exhibitions, Venice Biennale 1934, 1936, Panhellenic etc. His works are in the National Gallery of Greece, In OT Athens, Rhodes, the Averoff Gallery On Collections Koutlidis, Leventis Katsigras, and the Bank of Greece, National Bank.
Othonaios died in Skopelos, Greece in 1949.
