Noah Adair Jr. was born in California on August 8, 1908. Adair graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1931. During WWII he was commander of the destroyer, U.S.S. Borie and was awarded the Silver Star for saving his ship after being hit by a suicide bomber. A long-time resident of San Diego, he died there on January 18, 1997.
