Biography Otis Bullard
Known for his three-thousand foot long panorama of New York City, he was a widely traveled painter in North America and exhibited this panorama to an estimated million persons. Of the nearly 900 paintings he completed, he did numerous portraits and some genre paintings.
He died young, at age 37, but had achieved widespread fame. From 1842 to 1853, he exhibited at the National Academy and also at the American Art Union. His works are in the collections of Yale University, Smith College, the Shelburne Museum, the Parrish Art Museum, and Harvard University.
