Photographer, painter, sculptor. Born in Missouri on July 26 1888.
Williams settled in southern California in 1892. He graduated from Los Angeles High School and then studied locally at the School of Art & Design under Louise Garden MacLeod.
He continued his art education in NYC at the ASL and Beaux Arts Institute. While there he was greatly influenced by Bellows, Henri, and others of the Ashcan school.
About 1915 he returned to Los Angeles and soon was active in the local art scene. His first studio was on Spring Street where he kept busy with children's portraits. By the 1940s he was primarily a watercolorist and part of the "California Scene Painters."
