Parker Newton OSA, SC (1861? – 1928)
A painter, illustrator and writer, Parker Newton (aka: W. Parker Newton; aka: W.P. Newton) was born in New York and lived and worked in the environs of Toronto, Canada; New York City; and the state of Connecticut. He died in Neuilly, France (a Paris suburb) on May 13, 1928. He exhibited with several organizations including the National Academy of Design*, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts*, and the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts*. His painting titled Victory Fleet in North River is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of American History. (1)(2)
