Born in Massachusetts in 1886. Sellew graduated from Yale and Harvard universities and then settled in Los Angeles. For many years he taught at the school of medicine at USC. An oculist, he painted in his leisure. He died in Los Angeles on May 5, 1939. Exh: Businessmen's Art Club of LA, 1936.
