Paul Louis Bouchard
was a native of Paris and studied under Jules-Joseph Lefebvre
(1836-1911) and Gustave Boulanger (1824-1888). He initially painted
historical and figure scenes that captured the European Middle Ages.
Bouchard’s mature works described however mostly Oriental and Russian
themes that resulted in the artist’s fame.
