Painted 36 Mountie subjects between 1935-1946.

Paul Proehl studied architecture at the University of Illinois
(1907-1910), after which he worked as a draftsman and designer for many buildings in Chicago. Attending Chicago art schools, Proehl became an advertising artist beginning around 1918. In 1924, Proehl became a partner at Palenske Young, a well-known Chicago illustration studio located on North Michigan Ave. From that point on, Proehl's
illustrations appeared in national magazines for over thirty years.

During 1938-52, he created art for annual calendars and dining car menus used by the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. He also created images for the Illinois C   ...  Displaying 750 of 1630 characters.
