She was adopted by the wealthy Law family when her birth mother was dying from TB in the early 1900's. Her adoptive father was John Grierson Law, 1858-1937 and her adoptive mother was Adelaide Hunter Law (1856-1929).Mr. Law was a New York stock broker. All are interred at Indian Mound Cemetery, Moravia, New York.
Pauline grew up in Moravia NY, but came to New York City to attend the Art Students League, living at the Great Northern Hotel until she moved in with friends at the Essex House.
Pauline worked mainly in oils, but did some watercolor, creating land-and seascapes, portraits, and still lives.
