Pearl Amanda Fine Sturtevant was born in Monterey County, CA on July 9, 1875. "Mandy" Fine was raised in Ukiah, CA where she was a close friend of artist Grace Hudson. As a young woman she attended the Mark Hopkins Institute in San Francisco and then established a studio in Ukiah where she taught drawing and painting. She wed George Sturtevant, a superior court judge, in San Francisco and maintained a studio in her home at 31 Belmont Avenue. She died in Ukiah, CA on Jan. 23, 1950. Her work includes landscapes and still lifes.
