Biography Peter Paul Draewing
Peter Paul Draewing (1876-1940) first trained as a decorative painter in Rostock and attended the local industrial school. In 1896 he began studying at the art school in Weimar, where he was a pupil of Theodor Hagen, Carl Frithjof Smith, and Hans Olde. From 1904 to 1907 he completed studies at the Art Academy in Kassel. In 1915 he moved to Eisenach, where he worked as an art teacher. Draewing was an important follower of the artists' colony Schwaan, and a member of the Deutsche Künstlerbund.
