Biography Pieter Gorus
Belgian artist Pieter Gorus (1881-1941) was a pupil of Jacques Ferdinand and Rosseels Williaert at the Academy of Dendermonde. Landscape painter at once romantic, realistic and impressionistic, he draws his inspiration on the banks of the Scheldt and Durme.
It is one of the best representatives of the last generation of painters Dendermonde, with Léo Spanoghe and Herman Broeckaert.
He illustrated the works of Karel Van Woestijne.
