Born in Guatamala on Sept. 18, 1888. Having been paid to do Indian research by the Mexican government for many years, Gunther was an expert in Central America's Indians. While a resident of Hollywood in 1926-32, he designed the Guatamalan Palace for the Pacific Southwest Expo in Long Beach. He then returned to Guatamala City and died there on April 17, 1942.
