Biography Randolph Johnston
A sculptor of allegorical figures, illustrator and craftsperson, Randolph Johnston, born in Toronto, Canada, was also a long-time teacher at Smith College in Northhampton, Massachusetts. He also started a foundry and sculpture studio in 1951 at Little Harbour on Abaco Island in the Bahamas, which, after his death on December 18, 1992, continued to be operated by his son Peter, and grandsons Greg and Tyler.
Johnston was educated at Central Technical School in Toronto, the University of Toronto, the Ontario College of Art, the School of Arts and Crafts in London, and the Royal Canadian Academy.
He was author and illustrator of several books on crafts and direct casting of sculpture.
