Married to Ethelyn Mae Peebles, 8/6/1924, Springfield, MO. Children: Marilyn Ann (1930, deceased), Raymond Kenneth Jr. (1935), Marvin Lee Kennon (1937, deceased)
From 1928 to 1939 he was an architect in the office of a Springfield (MO) construction company. In 1933 he began painting seriously, largely self-taught.
He worked in many mediums, but in best known for his watercolors.
He taught painting at the Springfield Art Museum, Drury College special sessions, and Summer School in Eureka Springs, AR, as well as privately.
