Biography Reed Farrington
Reed Farrington was raised and schooled on the Eastern Seaboard. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, and spent six years commissioned service in the U.S. Army. Upon leaving the service, he attended the San Francisco Art Institute for a year and a half, and has painted ever since.
He credits San Francisco painter Richard Diebenkorn as one of his early influences, along with American abstract expressionist painters.
His home and studio are in Big Sur. He has resided on the Monterey Peninsula since 1963 and has been a member of the Carmel Art Association since 1971. During that time he has served on their Board of Directors several times, and served as their President in 1979.
