Richard Emmett O'Hanlon was active/lived in California.  Richard OHanlon is known for Sculptor, educator, painter, craftsman.

Biography   Richard O'Hanlon


Born in Long Beach, CA on Oct. 7, 1906. O'Hanlon studied at UC Berkeley (1926), CCAC (1927), Santa Barbara School of the Arts, and CSFA (1930-33). He was an assistant to Ralph Stackpole and Diego Rivera in the works at the CSFA and the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange. At the CSFA he won the Anne Bremer Traveling Fellowship (1933-34) for research in leading museums of the world. His sculpture projects and travels took him to Mexico, Europe, Japan, India and Nepal. After settling in Marin County in 1936, he began teaching in San Rafael in 1941, at the CCAC in 1942, and from 1948-75 was professor of sculpture at UC Berkeley.
