Born in Indiana, in 1951, and raised in upstate New York, Richard Seehausen lived in Brooklyn, New York from 1981 until 2001. He is now (2008) living in the lower Catskills with wife Ann Finneran, who also paints, and their daughter.

late 70s and early 80s, and new work continues in that vein. The
British painter Francis Bacon, the German Expressionist tradition, (ie
Max Beckman), figurative art through the ages, New York Harbor, the
decadent fashion industry, travel ads, the news media and a particular
political mindset all influence the work eclectically.
