Biography Robert Reid
From Atlanta, Georgia, Robert Reid was an African-American painter and
art educator. He was an instructor of painting at the Summit Art
Center in New Jersey from 1970 to 1971and in 1970, a Professor of
Drawing at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Reid was a student at Clark College from 1941 to 1943, and studied for
the next three years at the Art Institute of Design. From 1948 to
1950, he was at the Parson School of Design. Studied: Clark College,
1941-1943; Art Institute of Chicago, 1943-1946; Parson School Design,
New York, New York, 1948-1950.
Exhibition venues include the Grand Central Art Gallery in New York
